This is my first ever So you'd like to... list, but i hope you will
like it. The first war game you should get started with is probably
Risk beacause it is an easy game to learn and is kinda general,
not to serious. This was the first War/Strategy game i learned to
play, and i still play often.
From here you have a definite choice of games you want to play. Three
Games stick out particular here, all of which have a basic theme: Axis
& Allies Board Game, 2004 Revised Edition is a wonderful world
war 2 game, and a good strategy game even if you dont care for ww2.
Its two expansions, Axis and Allies Europe and axis pacific
are good games, but are more suited toward people who know a bit about
ww2.
A WONDERFUL American Civil War game is Battle Cry. This game is
not a map of the U.S., but it gives markers that you use to make the
battle fields with. This game is never the same, and has a large
element of surprise, so it is hard to dominate in. It comes with a
guide for many battle such as Bull's Run and Gettysburg.
A good one for those of you with an element of world conquest through
the ages would like which is a game of
world domination that is a different age each round. romans, greeks,
egyptians, world war 1 people, so many cultures its cool.
That is all i have fo now though i might update this some time.
